CATARACT is a major eye disorder characterized by blurring of vision, glare and double vision. Cataract causes sensitivity to glare such as the reflection of light from a metal or car, road or pavement or fluorescent ceiling lights. The patients are diagnosed and tested for any symptoms or signs of visual disorder or intra ocular tension. Along with this required lab tests are also done. If a patient is found suitable for operation, a biometry scan follows after which the patient is admitted into the wards. The incidence of intra ocular lens implant is generally very high. Phaco-emulsification of cataract lens, suture less surgery with the implantation of foldable or small sized hard lens are done in the cases that are deemed fit for such intervention and in case of others it is done on payment of the requisite charges. Provision of a patient advisory and counseling centre is also there at the OPD to advise patients on the types of surgery and the appropriate lens suitable for him and the cost involved etc.
