DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES

Diagnostic Services

Only the best, contemporary and technically proficient equipments and technologies are used at JPM Hospital to provide the finest eye care to the people.

Humphrey Field Analyser (HFA): Glaucoma patients are treated with HFA at JPM, which is the accepted standard of care in glaucoma diagnosis and management. Glaucoma Progression Analysis software provides advanced, accurate progression analysis for better glaucoma management. It helps in quantifying the likelihood of progression and identifying high-risk patients.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT): OCT technology is used at JPM to provide comprehensive imaging and measurement of glaucoma and retinal disease. Stratus OCT is the gold standard in vivo imaging device for the posterior segment and offers proven reproducibility for disease management.

Optical Biometry: Optical biometry is used for precise calculation of intraocular lenses (IOL) at JPM. Even with eyes not ideally formed, the technology of A-scan and Auto Keratometry technology makes it possible to exactly measure visual axis length. Its accuracy is not affected by high ametropia, pupil size or state of accommodation.

FFA: Visual field tests are used to detect blind spots (scotomas), which could be a sign of eye diseases. The size and shape of a scotomas offer important clues about the presence and severity of diseases of the eye, optic nerve and visual structures in the brain. Many eye and brain disorders can cause peripheral vision loss and other visual field abnormalities.

Pachymeter:  is a medical device used to measure the thickness of the eye’s cornea. It is used to perform corneal pachymetry prior to refractive surgery, for Keratoconus screening, LRI surgery and useful in screening of patients suspected of developing glaucoma among other uses.

B-Scan: B-scan ultra-sonography is an important adjuvant for the clinical assessment of various ocular and orbital diseases. With understanding of the indications for ultra-sonography and proper examination technique, one can gather a vast amount of information not possible with clinical examination alone. This article is designed to describe the principles, techniques, and indications for echographic examination, as well as to provide a general understanding of echographic characteristics of various ocular pathologies.

Specular Microscope: Specular microscopy is a non-invasive photographic technique that facilitates rapid and accurate diagnosis of corneal endotheliopathies.

Synaptophore is an instrument for diagnosing imbalance of eye muscles and treating them by orthoptic methods.
